Posted by Alexandra Storrs on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, In : Commercial Venting

Commercial Industrial liner project at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy.  The liner sections you see are 5' sections of 32" round stainless steel.  This is the largest liner our manufacturer has ever made.  Therefore, it is the largest liner we have ever installed.  This liner is 60' in height and is venting two boilers the size of freight train cars. to see another commercial industrial project

These are two of many crates of material for this job.  Material was delivered by freight directly to the site.  This is 50' of 28" round Model G chimney system.  It comes to us from Michigan via a local supplier in Randolph.  The pipe is installed in sections to make it more manageable at the top of the chimney.  This material is specific to venting an industrial gas boiler.  These particular boilers are the size of a locamotive steam engines.  This was to vent 2 of these boilers which provi...

Charlestown Rebuild day 1

Posted by Alexandra Storrs on Tuesday, July 27, 2010, In : Charlestown Rebuild

When the roofer pulled back the rubber roofing, this is what he found!!  Look closely at the base of the chimney, absolutely no mortar joints to speak of.  The brick are already starting to collapse down, it was swaying as they removed the brick from the top of the chimney.  One good push & the chimney would have fallen 45' to the ground.  People don't worry about what they can't see.  To see most recently completed rebuild click here http://www.dmstorrschimney.com/our-soot-stories/chimney-co...
